“ A really cool dive bar just when you need it the most. Came for a few drinks and bites before an event and the bar was packed with all types of people just having a good time. I was a little intimidated at first but everyone we came across, from employees to patrons were super friendly and chill. They had decently priced drink/shot specials and their food was good for dive bar food. A few of us had some fries, boneless wings and hot dogs and all went down very quickly. Don't forget to throw your peanut shells on the floor. ”
“ This was the perfect local spot! I came in on karaoke night and someone was singing "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan so I already loved the energy. Dustin and AC were the most attentive, accommodating and enjoyable bartenders. Jeanette was a dear handling the karaoke and gave me the confidence and kindness to sing a song. Happy to have a homey bar to come back to ”
“ Nice staff and inviting environment. Food is good. Best mozz sticks and wings around! ”
“ This is a GREAT BAR for cocktails and the bar food is really good too. Come here for the cold brew latte if you like espresso martinis. Another plus, the free shelled peanuts. If you wanna hang at the bar with friends but don't want to drink, they have hop water too! ”
“ Don't trust reviews of dive bars by people who don't like dive bars. They're not for everyone...but they're for me. I was in Queens for four nights and discovered the Mad Monkey on my third. I wish I had found it on my first. It's an awesome place. It is kinda like Cheers with the atmosphere but in a dive bar. On my second night, people knew my name. Hell, someone knew my name on my first night as soon as I walked in. And you don't sit at this bar without getting into a conversation. I talked to tourists from Japan and Canada on my second night. Jeanette, the bartender is an extraordinarily nice person. She's very friendly and knows her regulars. I didn't have the chance to eat here but I will next time. I'm very intrigued by the Frito Pie (not new to me) and its wings. Next time I'm in Queens, I'm staying near this neighborhood so I can visit Mad Donkey. I promised Jeanette I'd be back. ”
“ I love stopping by while I'm in Queens. Now that I have discovered they have an Elf mural and a resident (of sorts) French bulldog with his own barstool, this is a must stop while visiting this neighborhood. Super laidback and the drinks are cold and flowing. The staff wants to ensure a good experience! Live music when I was there on a Friday early evening. Cheers! ”
“ Very cool little spot to chill at with friends. Appetizers were great and the drinks cold like they're supposed to be. Bar tender was on point with it all. ”
“ Recommended by a friend, as I was looking for a place to shoot darts. Went on a Thursday evening, minimal crowd. Two dart boards in the back, and we had them all to ourselves! Super fun, tasty beers and chicken quesadilla was fine. Usual bar food; chicken wing special on Thursday's as well. TVs showing sports and peanuts everywhere. Peanut allergy afflicted: be warned! ”
